I would get the lance fighter, medium gauss cannons and maybe a large shard Cannon and plasma charger to test them. The turreted ones are bad though, they require crew.
Webthats what i think too. balancewise it makes no sense because effectively this means that the damage is way lower than any other fighter per second and per heat. as calculated above: Human Plasma Repeaters (both): 36 dps (27 with reload) with 0.3 heat generation per round (10 per second per gun) so 6 per second.

Plasma Charger Class 3 full charged make 56,1 dps (dmg. per shot).
